Moving to the Gila Valley

Well, It's official.
Ou family is moving away from Globe and into the Gila Valley area. Matt has a job as a substitute teacher at Safford district, Thatcher district and Pima District, so he should have pretty steady work. We're moving into a rental home for a few months, until we can moove into a house, which we are dilligently working on. We'll be closer to sooooo many friends and family and we are so excited to be moving to the town qwe have always wanted to raise our family. When Matt and I met there 8 years ago, we always said we wanted to move back someday and now it's finally happening. The new temple is so close and The town is just so dear to us. So, June 26th, we're making the dream come true!!! Gila Valley, her we come!!!

Third Trimester, Here we go!

So, This Tuesday marked the end of the second trimester and now we are entering the last three months. It is exciting, but frightening at the same time. Ethan is soooo excited and sweet when we talk about Talia being born. He's started hugging and kissing other people's babies in church for practice and he's started giving my belly kisses too. He says he wants to help me give Talia Baths and sing her to sleep at night. I just hope this keeps up AFTER the baby is born and he doesn't completely freak out. Matt and I picked out some SUPER cute fabric online for the nursery. It has fairies on it, but it's neither pink nor purple, so it's feminie without being overly girly, which makes both of us happy. It's got light green and yellow dots on it and lots of fairies with white flowers, It really is perfect. Now I just need to get my mind and body ready to go into labor again(It was horrible last time) and just keep holding onto those happy excited feelings until the end of the summer!

Talia Grace Leavitt

We found out in the ultrasound place that we are having a little girl. So, I guess Ethan was right this whole time. Matt was soooo excited to find out the news. he's been secretly wanting a girl this whole time, but didn't want to say anything out loud to me about it. Today he was so sweet and gave me a big hug and said, "I'm holding BOTH of my girls". He is just so happy that we'll get to experience raising both a boy and a girl. Her name will be Talia Grace and we're so excited she's coming to our family!

Feeling the Stress

So, we're 3 weeks away from the end of the school year. Matt has to teach a mini poetry unit and then he has to do the final test of the year. The good news is that Matt's stress level about his job will go down, but the bad news is that we still havn't heard from ANY of the places we've applied for jobs. We really need to know what we're doing and where we're going. Matt and I just feel like we REALLY need to move away from Globe, but until we get another job, we're kind of stuck.
I've also heard that my current OB has lost Hospital privilages, which means HE CAN"T DELIVER OUR BABY. I'm super scared about that. I just want a good OB I can trust to deliver my baby.
We've also decided to go to a 3D ultrasound place this weekend to see if we can determine what gender the baby is. It will cost about $65 Dollars, but with everything that has been going on, we just feel like we need to celebrate about something. Hopefully I'll be posting the good new soon!

Grrrrrr

So, we went to our ultra sound appointment and the baby was VERY uncooperative. We just could not see whether it is a boy or girl. It kept rolling over and balling up so there was NO WAY to see what it is. The good new is that it is very healthy and It is measuring bigger than we thought, so our due date has been bumoed up to August 31, instead of Sept. 7. This Probably means that it will still be born on Sept. 7, we'll just consider it late instead of ontime.
We've alos decised that if it is possible, we would like to move to a slightly more....uh..moral environment than the the one we currently live in. It's also getting very difficult for us financially here. It's getting almost impossible for us to make enough to meet all of our needs and with a baby an the way, that is pretty frightening.
We've applied for english job openings in about 6 different places, but no word back yet, so we just have to wait and see.
It would be great if everypne couls remember us in your prayers, we would be EVER so grateful.

Boy or Girl?

We have an appointment on Friday to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I think it's a boy, but Ethan INSISTS it is a girl. He tells me every day that he is having a baby sister and if I try to suggest it might be a boy, he gets really mad at me. So, I guess we'll find out this Friday which one of us is right.
If it is a boy, his name will be Logan Jay Leavitt. If it is a girl, her name will be Talia Grace Leavitt. We're super excited and it really doesn't matter what it is. We'll be so happy to welcome a new baby into our home no matter what it is!

Hey there everybody,
So, Sorry it's been so incredibly long since I've posted anything. I guess Things have just been so unreal and busy that I don't have much time for stuff like this anymore. So, Matt and I have Moved to Globe Arizona. Matt is working as an English teacher at the HIghschool here. It's been a hard job for him and he would like to try teaching somewhere else, but we'll see if we get to move or not. I'm hoping that if we get a job offer somewhere else, it comes early in the summer becuase we are expecting baby #2 in September and I don't want to move when I'm too far along.
We are thrilled that we are going to have a new member in our family. We don't know if it is a boy or a girl yet. I think it's a boy, but Ethan INSISTS it's a girl. He even gets mad at me if I suggest it's a boy. He tells me every day that he's having a little sister. I guess we'll see who wins this one in about a week and a half.
We really love the Ward here in Globe. It's nice being needed. MAtt is serving as the Sunday School President an I'm teaching the sunbeam class in the primary. It's not easy teaching the kids that have just barely come out of Nursery. They're used to playing and running around and now suddenly, I want them to sit down and listen. I consider it an accomplishment if they can remember what the lesson was about at the end of class.
Ethan is growing up sooooooooo much. He knows how to count, he knows all of his upper and lower case letters and he is learning how to sound out words and how to write. His favorite letter to write is the letter H right now. We went out and coloored the sidwalk a few days ago and half of the driveway was covered in squiggly letter H's. It's pretty great. He can alos write the letter A, and T pretty well, so we just need to help him with the letters E and N and he'll be able to write his name! It's exciting, but sad to watch my baby boy growing up so fast.

I know this is old news, but Matt DID graduate from BYU witha degree in Theatre education in April. It was awsome having both sets of our presents and it was extra special having Matt's Grandma Leavitt there. We're all so proud of him!!!

It really shouldn't be any surprisethat Ethan wanted to go as Superman for Halloween this year. I mean, all you have to do is step into his bedroom to see what his favorite thing is right now. Any way, I was really nervous about the costume, but in the end I think I did ok. He just loved it and was running around the house all night screaming, "I'm superman!!!!" he was so excited.

Trick or treat

He's trying to look at Matt and eat a lollipop at the same time, so it's hard to see his face through the helmet. The other one was too cute for me to resist. Ethan's Birthday Party

So, Ethan had his 2nd Birthdya while we were living in Los Alamos. This was GREAT for me because I had my parents there to help with the party. It was at the church( which was right next door to our house) so I didn't have to make a mess in the house we were staying in. The kids had a blast and it was sooooo much fun to watch them! The theme was "Ethan is throwing a Ball". Basically, we just had a ton of ball related games the all of the kids coulod play with freely. We had a basket ball hoop, crocket, bowling, a ball pit, a soccer goal, and a pinata shaped like a basketball. I was particularly proud of the invitations.

Hi everybody! It's been just a bout forever since I've been able to blog, so I need to catch everyone up to speed. Since I blogged last, Matt graduated from BYU with a degree in Theatre Education. Go Matt!!!!
After BYU, we moved to Los Alamos to house sit for my old Middle school Drama teacher, Justine Jones. I was a huge house and we loved living there. Thanks a million Justine! Matt was able to get a long term sub job at the Highschool in Los Alamos teaching drama because the regular teacher was on maternity leave. It was a great first teaching experience for him.
While we were in Los Alamos, Matt turned 26 and Ethan turned 2. I'll be sure to post pictures of the parties and Matt's graduation later.
After a VERY long search and a lot of prayers, Matt got hired on as a highschool english teacher in Globe Arizona. So now we are living in Globe, trying to settle in and trying to get back into some kind of a routine. So, that's us for now. I'll be sure to blog a lot more often now that we have better internet(Thanks Mom&Dad)

Lately, Ethan's favorite thing is to sit at the computer and practice his ABC's. In fact, if he sees letters Any where, he wants to sit down and read them. His Nursery leaders were stunned that he knew them, but he and I do do this A LOT.

Lately, since it's been a lot colder, I've really been trying to get Ethan to wear a hat when we go outside. He's better about it than he used to be, but he always takes the hat off before we're done outside. It's kind of frustrating. The other day Ethan founf a package of his swimming diapers and he wore one on his head FOREVER. He thought it was the coolest thing. Why won't he wear a regular hat, but is thrilled with a diaper?

Today Matt and I celebrate our 4th Wedding anniversary! We've been through so much together. I love my husband so much and I am so blessed to have him in my life. He's such an amazing and loving person and I love him with all of my heart. Eternity is going to be so wonderful as long as we're together.

Helping Mommy make cupcakes

I wanted to make Some Cupcakes for Matt's aunt and uncle and for the Spencers that we could take to them on Halloween night. Ethan, of course, was very eager to help me. The only problem was that his definition of helping me make cupcakes was to eact almost an entire bowl of orange frosting. He was a little hyper that day.

Quick Robin, To the sewing Machine!!

Making Costumes for this Halloween was a lot of work and there were times that I just wanted to throw the sewing machine out the window, but I was so excited when I saw how well they all turned out. Matt actually vacccuum formed the mask to fit his face perfectly and he welded the belt out of steel. He even made the boots himself out of some slippers and foam. Pretty cool, huh?

The hardest part about My costume was losing enough weight to not feel rediculous in a skin tight body suit. I know I'm still chunkier than the real bat girl, but she never had a baby and she's a drawing for Heaven Sakes!

Here's the star of our family. His costume was just a onsie with a badge that I made with Shrinky dinks, and some yellow fabric sewn on. I had to just improvise and make the cape without a pattern, but I think he is just the cutest little robin I have ever seen.

Trick or Treat!!!!

This was the first year we took Ethan Trick or Treating and we were a little nervous that he wouldn't like it very much, but he absolutely loved it! We took him to one of the Dorms on campus because they advertised trick or treating there. It was nice because it was inside and there were tons of doors right next to eachother, so he got a lot of candy without having to go too far. He loved knocking on the doors and letting the single girls admire him. He got really excited at one of the rooms and as soon as the door opened, he just barged right into the poor girls room and we had to politely ask her so send him back out. We also went to see Matt's uncle Brian and Cindy and some old family friends, the Spencers. It was such a fun night!

Sign language flubbs

So, Matt and I have been trying to get Ethan to use a little sign language to tell us what he wants, thus reducing the amount of fussing that goes on. One that he has REALLY latched onto is the sign "finished" . It used to be that when he was done eating. he'd just wine until we got him down from his high chair. Now when he's done eating, he just makes the finished sign, which is great fro both parties. He gets down from his High chair like he wants and mommy and daddy don't have to put up with a lot of fussing. I don't think he quite understands exactly waht the sign means though. The other day, I took Ethan to the graocery store with me to pick up a few things. I put him in the cart and strapped him in. Being the active little boy that he is, he really doesn't like this arrangement. Instead of crying this time, though, he simply gave me a dirty look and did the sign for finished. I guess the sign language still needs a little work.

Toothbrush

So, My sister In-Law Sara did this thing on her blog where she opened the 4th folder in her pictures, downloaded the 4th picture and then had to describe it on the blog. Then she tagged me. This is what the picture turned out to be. I know it's really strange. It is a long standing tradition that any time a man going to school at BYU has a break of any kind, he starts to grow a beard because BYU doesn't allow beards in the honor code. This was Matt's beard during summer break. He wanted to take plenty of pictures of it before he had to shave it off when school started. I guess he wanted it for stage makeup reference.

So, the Shelves above the toilet have bamboo table placemats on them, which gave our bottles a solid surface to sit on so the bottles don't fall off anymore. I found the cocnut bowls at a party store whish is where I found the lai's too. The shower curtain and mat were a lucky find at Walmart. I absolutely love our new bathroom and I'm so happy it didn't cost much at all.

So, we've been having a bit of a problem with our bathroom decor lately. Our theme was a rubber duckie theme and it really was a cute idea, but several things happened that made it not so nice any more. First of all, Ethan wanted to play with the rubber ducks in his bath and I was glad to let him since they are bath toys, after all. The only problem with rubber ducks is that you can NEVER get all of the water out of them at the end of the bath, so all of them were growing mold on the inside, so we we had to throw most of them away. Then the Trash can got cracked down the side, so it was no good any more. Then Ethan decided that he wanted to play with the soap dish and the toothbrush holder, which were not meant to be played with and he broke both of them.On top of everything else, the shelf we have for holding various things had metal bars going across for the shelves instead of a solid surface so any time the shelf was bumped in any way, all of the bottles and such would come crashing down, which was pretty frustrating. It was becoming clear to me that I needed to re-do the bathroom to be not as breakable. The big problem is that Matt is Student Teaching this semester and not working, so we are living on a very tight budget. I started looking around and I finally decided on a Hawaiin themed bathroom. I know Martha Stewart would just faint away dead if she saw it, but I think it turned out really nice, Matt loves it, and it is pretty well unbreakable. I found most of the stuff at Party stores since people like to do luau themed parties and the rest I found on clearance at Walmart, since they were clearing out the summer stuff for the new fall stuff.

Unforunately, Matt's shirt looked a little tasty to one of the goats and the goat kept chewing on him. It also appears that there is a goat dying in the background of this picture.

Here are some more pictures of our trip to Portland. We went to the Zoo on our visit and I have to say it was the best zoo I've ever been to. Since Portland is so rainy, there is tree cover everywhere in the zoo, which means that we didn't have to worry about overexposure to the sun. Ethan loved the petting zoo and the kid play areas the best.

Ball modeling

While we were in the Science museum in Oregon, we found a kids activity area that Ethan just loved. There were water tables that he just couldn't get enough of and he adored the ball pit. Here he is modeling one of the little plastic balls in the pit for us. The funny thing is that his favorite thing in the whole museum was in the bathroom. They had a sink that was just at his level and turned off automatically when you waved your hands under it. He could have stayed there for hours. I guess that's little kids for you. You spend the money to take them to a science museum, show them all of the cool displays, and their favorite part is the sink in the bathroom. Sigh!

Earlier on this Summer, we took a trip to Portland and we finally got the film developed just this week. Her we are with Grandpa Adams having fun at the Oregon Museum of Scienc and Industry. Matt really likes the picture of Ethan in the Space shuttle because he remembers a picture of himself in the same shuttle from when he was a kid. Pretty cool, huh?

Ethan figured out how to get into the flour the other day and while it was a rather frazzling experience, I felt like it really need to be documented just the same. The funny thing about these pictures is that I was trying to watch something about discipline on TV. Albuquerque Zoo

Our family took a trip to New Mexico at the beginning of August and we visited the Albuquerque zoo while we were there. It was a really fun day. Most of the animals were weing VERY cooperative about being seen. Alot of them came right up to the glass so we could see them up close. Ethan really liked the Sea lions.

When we went to the Gorilla enclosure, one of the gorillas was getting really close and we were desperately trying to get Ethan to look at it, but he saw a big rubber ball in there and that seemed to be the only thing he was interested in. Matt was practically screaming"Ethan LOOK!", but all Ethan said was "Ball!" over and over again. I think the gorilla must have caugth on to what we were doing because he eventually came right up to the glass, sat on the ball Ethan was looking at, and even tapped on the glass with his fingers and licked the glass to finally get Ethan's attention. It was pretty funny.

On eof the cool things you can do at the Albquerque zoo is feed the Lorikeets. It was so much fun. They climb right on your arm and everthing. We really enjoyed it.( Matt got bitten a few times, though)

It was a lot of fun feeding the Lorikeets, but they can get a little pushy when they see you have food. Matt made the mistake of turning his back on a few of the birds and he found himself literally crawling with lorikeets.

I decided that since I spend all my time with two boys and doing a lot of boyish things, that I wanted a girly birthday cake. Ethan has been getting very "Chewy" Lately. He likes to bite and chew a lot of things and Matt and I were really getting worried about his crib, since it's such a nice piece of Furniture. So, Matt bought a water noodle(You know, the ones kids play with in the pool) and slit it down the side and put it over the edge of Ethan's crib. I thought it was rather a rather genius idea, myself, and it actually doesn't look bad at all. I love being married to such a clever guy!

After Matt and I explained, Ethan figured out that you need to use the Ball to knock over the pins, but I think it will still be a bit before he really figures out how the game works.

The scary thing is that when I took the phone away from him, I heard an annoyed woman saying"Hello?... Hello?" on the other end. Not really thinking clearly, I just hung up, I guess I should have explained to the poor woman what had happened, but I guess I was just so embarrassed I didn't think about it. So I guess Ethan has now made his first official Prank Call.

When my Mom and Dad were here, they took us Toys R Us and Ethan pulled a stuffed Horse off of the shelves that he has just been in love with ever since. He Also got a glow worm from his Grandma and Grandpa Leavitt that loves to cuddle up to before bed. Thanks Grandparents!!!! The stuffed animals are a huge hit!

I decided it was time to move the seasonings and the food coloring up out of Ethan's reach this week. Well, I guess Ethan CONVINCED me that I NEEDED to move the food coloring out of reach. I did manage to get the color off of the carpet and off of the kitchen floor(Thank goodness.) He was trying to give me a kiss during the last picture and he didn't quite understand why I wouldn't let him.

Matt is now 25 years old!!! For his Birthday, I got him the Marvel addition of the Scene It game( he's having a hard time finding a worthy opponant). I also made him an action figure of him as His characetr Bottom in Midsummer Night's Dream.I used a "Donkey" action figure head from Shrek and a Wrestling action figure for the body. I painted it to look like Matt's costume and sewed a little vest like the one he wears in the play. The Cast signed the back of the package of the action figure. I thought it would be a fun way to remember the play. He's done such an awesome job in the play. He really is fantastic!

C is for Cookie

I neede to throw together a cake at the last minute, so My mom and I picked up a cake from the Grocery store and brought it home. I scraped off the chocolate frosting, refrosted it with vanilla, and Sprayed the frosting blue. Then I used two mini powdered donuts for the eyes, chocolate chips for the pupils and shoved two cookies in the front of the cake to make it look like they were sticking out of the mouth. I know it's not very pretty, but I think it turned out pretty cute for throwing it together in about 10 minutes.

Matt's parents came this weekend to see Matt's play. They absolutely loved it, which they should, I mean any production with Matt Leavit in it has got to be a hit. Any way, Since Matt's birthday is coming up, I decorated the apartment and made a cake for his birthday. The Thransformer's symbol is just Red sprinkles and I used a stencil I made from the computer, but I think it actuall turned out alright. We could only find one birthday candle though. Just imagine 24 more, I guess.

The other day, I was using the Dust Devil to get all the little nooks and crannies the big vaccuum can't get to. Ethan thought it was one of the coolest things he had ever seen and took it away from me. He didn't quite understand how to use it, though.

Unfortunately, There aren't many pictures of Ethan for his first Christmas. He got really sick Christmas Eve and he slept through opening presents on Christmas day. He gave us a pretty good scare, but he seems to be doing a lot better now. We did manage to get some pretty cute pictures of Ethan with his cousin, Kyle before he got sick though. It turned out that they had some matching pajamas and it was too cute a photo opportunity to pass up. They also decided to shake their presents a bit to see if they could guess what they were getting for christmas, as you can see.

We went to Matt's Work Christmas Party and Ethan got to sit on Santa's lap for the first time. He wasn't that thrilled at first, but then Santa gave him a present and he thought that was pretty cool.( We noticed Matt's boss, Ward suddenly disappeared right before Santa came and showed back up again right after Santa letf. He missed all the fun)

The other day, the grounds crew raked up all the leaves and made a big pile for the kids to play in, so I decided to take Ethan out to play.He's never played in leaves before.He came out pretty dirty, but he had a blast.
